Junior Auxiliary of Grenada 2023

Woman of distiction:

Mrs. Jeannie Perrin Logan

The Junior Auxiliary of Grenada honored Jeannie Perrin Logan as the 2023 Woman of Distinction at their annual fall luncheon. As a life member of the organization, Logan was selected for her continued commitment to improve the lives of children in our community through Care Today that produces Character Tomorrow.

Logan has a degree in elementary education from the University of Southern Mississippi and has taught students in Oklahoma, Texas, and Mississippi.  She was teaching in the Grenada School District when she became aware of the work of Junior Auxiliary and began volunteering through the organization.

As an active member, Logan served on the board as recording secretary and was chairman of the tickets committee for the annual Children’s Benefit Charity Ball.  She also served as co-chairman of the IMPACT service project and met weekly with middle school students, encouraging them to make wise choices that would positively impact their futures.

Logan continues to volunteer through Junior Auxiliary and is a requested speaker each year for Ingénues, a JA sponsored club that promotes self-esteem in fifth grade girls, and for Crown Club, a JA sponsored club that focuses on creating service opportunities for high school girls.

Regardless of the topic, her message remains the same. She encourages the girls to believe in their intrinsic value and to make wise, healthy choices for their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Her words inspire the JA members as well as the girls who are present.

Logan has served in the community as a GED tutor through GLAD, as a supporter of the Boys and Girls Club, and as an exceptional host for gatherings of friends, family, and church groups. She is an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, where she has served as a Sunday School teacher and CYO leader and currently serves on the bereavement and social committees. Passionate about her faith, she speaks at women’s events, is active in the Emmaus community, participates in church and community Bible study groups, and serves as a mentor to young women.

Logan and her husband Ben have been married for thirty-eight years and have three daughters. Meg and her husband Geof LeBus have two children, June and George, and will welcome a new baby girl in February; Beth and her husband Ryan Nunley have twins, Logan and Mary Ryan; and Kate and her husband William Griffith have one child, Jack.

Logan is grateful for the opportunities her daughters had to serve the community through Crown Club and is proud that her daughter Kate is a new member of Junior Auxiliary of Grenada.
