About JA

Junior Auxiliary is a national, non-profit organization that provides its members with the opportunity to serve and to be a vital part of the community.  Chapters encourage members to render charitable services which are beneficial to the general public, but with particular emphasis on children.  Helping children and making a difference in their lives is the principle on which Junior Auxiliary was founded.

history

Junior Auxiliary of Grenada was organized May 4, 1946.  Organizing members included Mrs. C.H. Calhoun, Sr. (Sponsor), Mrs. H.A. Alexander, Mrs. Frank Horton, Mrs. E.L. Boteler, Mrs. Charles Liles, Mrs. Walter Garner, Mrs. J.L. Townes, Mrs. Cas Heath, and Mrs. Lynn Williams.

our EMBLEM

The emblem is in the shape of a crown signifying a mark of honor and service rendered; a reward for achievement. Five pearls on the points of the crown symbolize charity, youth, health, community service, and leadership.  Junior Auxiliary service exemplifies these ideals.
